The Archbishop called for a night for prayer and fasting amidst civil unrest around the country.

The prayer meeting, held on the 23 June, took place at the Church of the Holy Cross in Kassaa, Damascus where all denominations gathered in peace and unity for spiritual benefit.

Rev. Toma Asitivo, parish priest of St George Parish, along with many local parishioners attended on behalf of the Assyrian Church of the East.

Bishops, priests, clergy and hundreds of faithful from all churches attended in love and compassion for one another, regardless of their nationality, faith or denomination.

Further, their voices were extended to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for peace and calamity in the Middle East, especially in this time of political instability.

The prayer concluded with loving fellowship and binding conversation between all those present, who showed the love of Christ.
