Archdiocese Sends Condolences to H.B. Mar Meelis

The parishes of the Archdiocese of Australia, New Zealand and Lebanon have offered their deepest condolences to His Beatitude Mar Meelis Zaia AM and his family, following the passing of his beloved mother Maryam Zaia.

Rev. Chor-Bishop Ashoor Lazar, parish priest of St Hurmizd Cathedral, Sydney, said the family was in the prayers of all priests, deacons, committees and faithful brothers and sisters of the church during this time of grief.

News of the passing of Maryam Zaia, who resided in San Jose, USA, was heard by Sydney parishioners on Saturday 6 August, the date of the Holy Feast of the Revelation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“We pray that God may reward His servant Maryam in the Kingdom of Heaven, along with all the saints and the chosen of our Lord,” said Rev. Chor-Bishop Ashoor.
