Year 12 students of Sydney’s Mar Narsai Assyrian College (MNAC) have been privileged to receive a lecture on the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East, by His Beatitude Mar Meelis Zaia AM, Archbishop of Australia, New Zealand and Lebanon.
The students, having reached their last year of education at MNAC, were given a detailed insight on the history and construction of the foundation of the Church’s faith.
Church forefathers’ teachings were applied in explaining the foundation of faith, while historical aspects of the lecture included insight on the universities established by the Assyrian Church of the East, as well as its expansion into far east Asia including countries such as Mongolia, China and India.
His Beatitude said he was focused on helping to establish a generation of Assyrian Church of the East youth with Christian values and ethics, as they will soon enter the world of employment or take on further studies at various institutes.
Urging the students to be cautious in their final stage of schooling, His Beatitude advised them to pay extra attention and enforce more ability and confidence in their studies, in order to gain stronger results.
“You shall be the greatest light, in the realm of the real world”, His Beatitude told the students.
