Assyrian Church of the East Engages in Ecumenical Meetings in Constantinople

The Assyrian Church of the East has taken a positive step in strengthening relations with the Ecumenical Patriarchate following meetings held in Constantinople on 27 February 2026.

His Grace Mar Awraham Youkhanis, Chairman of the Patriarchal Commission for Inter-Church Relations, met with His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew and representatives of the Patriarchate in a warm and fraternal spirit.

Discussions were constructive and focused on fostering greater understanding and future cooperation between the two Churches.
