The Youth Association of St. George Parish in Damascus has held a concert to raise the spirits of local Assyrian immigrants.
The concert, on 20 October, entertained and brought together the Assyrian community, made up of immigrant families who have fled their homes in Iraq.
While the immigrants await acceptance of their permanent residency applications, the heartening event reinforced the message that God always gives guidance for the parishioners of St. George Parish.
The concert took place at the Deir Ibrahim Khalil in Jermana, Damascus where all other parish activities are held.
The concert was attended by Rev. Archdeacon Toma Oraham and Rev. Toma Asitivo, parish priest of St. George Parish.
The program included songs and performances presented by many well-known entertainers in Syria.
The performances filled the hall with joy and gladness and created the theme of “rejoicing in the Lord at all times”.
