“Yet give attention to your servant’s prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.” 1 Kings 29:8
The foundation rock has been laid for the building of St Paul’s Parish in Anaheim, California, following dedicated fundraising efforts by church members.
The ceremony to commence the laying of the foundation for the church premises was presided over by His Grace Mar Aprim Khamis, Bishop of the Diocese of Western USA, and parish priest Reverend Ashur Elkhoury on the 10th of October.
Prior to the ceremony, the Holy Eucharist was offered by His Grace, where the body and blood of Christ was given to the faithful that have been working tirelessly in fundraising and organizing to have their own church building.
The establishment of St Paul’s Parish will give the faithful a place to worship the Lord; a house of prayer that allows sons and daughters to meet and have fellowship in the love of Christ.
Rev. Ashur Elkhoury, being an architect himself, has continuously energized the parish to keep faith and hope that the Lord will take care of everything.
Perseverance and strength in the true faith have been key elements for the church members, who have been encouraged to be content in all circumstances and not doubt.
