Canada’s parishioners have welcomed a patriarchal visit from His Holiness Mar Dinkha IV, Catholicos Patriarch of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.
His Holiness offered the Holy Eucharist, on 31 July, in the newly consecrated St Mary Cathedral, Toronto. The visit echoed a previous patriarchal visit made on completion of the cathedral’s construction at the same time last year.
Present at the service were: His Grace Mar Ammanuel Yosip, Bishop of Canada, along with many parish priests, deacons and faithful.
Later that evening, His Holiness along with His Grace, priests, deacons and parishioners gathered in St Mary Cathedral’s reception hall.
His Holiness gave the keynote address, centred around preserving the faith and language while staying strong in the Lord. He further applauded the parishioners in supporting the Church and their diocese, which continually meets the spiritual needs of the beloved faithful of the church, the sons and daughters of the faith.
His Holiness was scheduled to visit the cities of Hamilton, London, Windsor and Ontario, calling on parishes and parishioners across the Diocese of Canada.
