H.G. Mar Narsai Ordains Young Priest in Iran

His Grace Mar Narsai Benyamin, Bishop of Iran, has raised a young deacon to the ranking of Holy Priesthood.

The ordination of the new Reverend Addai Daniel took place on 20 January in St. Mary Church of Urmia, Iran, in the presence of parish priest, Reverend Daryawosh Azizyan.

Rev. Addai was born on 5 May 1990 to mother Valentine and father Edmond Daniel and is a twin to his brother Raymond Daniel. They were baptized by Chor-Bishop Rev. Estapanos Yelda.

Rev. Addai was ordained a sub-deacon on19 May 2005 by His Holiness Mar Dinkha IV Catholicos Patriarch. He was then ordained a deacon by His Beatitude Mar Gewargis Sliwa, Metropolitan of Iraq, Iran and Russia, in 2009.

He was sent to Tehran, the country’s capital city, for further studies in the Assyrian Church of the East’s doctrine and sacraments under the leadership of Chor-Bishop Gewargis Benyamin; today’s Mar Narsai Benyamin.

Rev. Addai will now proudly serve the faithful parishioners of the church in Urmia, Iran – his hometown.
